Below are four delicious and fun ice cream desert recipes kids can help create.

2. S’Mores Sundae: At the bottom of a bowl put a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Next pour chocolate syrup over the ice cream. Add a spoonful of gooey marshmallow creme. Slip in two chocolate-covered graham crackers; crumble another one on top. You’ll definitely want s’more!

3. Brownie Pie: On the top of a rich brownie pie crust, pile on a rainbow of flavors and fresh berries.

For the brownie pie crust, you can use a brownie mix from the store. Bake in a pie plate or pan and then cool until completely cooled.

Add 1 ½ quarts sherbert or ice cream of any variety of flavors. Use 3-4 Tbsp. Ice-cream topping such as strawberry, pineapple, or chocolate. Lastly stop with 1 cup fresh raspberries, blueberries, sliced strawberries.

Variation: If you use vanilla, chocolate or strawberry ice cream, you can substitute l cup of fresh fruit with 1 cup of toppings such as English Toffee, chocolate chips, crushed oreo cookies, vanilla wafers, or etc.

4. Ice Cream on a stick: Cut a block of ice cream into rectangles. Place on a chilled baking sheet and freeze till firm. Add wooden sticks and freeze again. Spread with chocolate-fudge ice-cream coating and a variety of small candies. Yum!

Children love to feel a part of what is going on. Involving your children and their friends in creating their own deserts can be a rewarding experience for them. As mother’s and grandmother’s, we are always looking for unique ideas that will capture a child’s attention.
